On the first night Amber came to your studio she was very nervous and upset. She was not sure what karate would be like and her last experience had not been very pleasant. I have been with American Family Kenpo Karate (AFKK) for almost 7 years. And each and every class I seem to be learning something new. The kids that walk in always have a smile on there face. The group classes are big but at the same time everyone is able to learn at the same pace with the rotating curriculum set by owner Gary Wilson. He has found a way for all the students to be able to work with one another and help each other progress through the ranks. It is great with how AFKK is also going out to schools are trying there best to help. With presentations at different local schools to help inspire kids to stay health and improve their life skills. And with the economical crises how AFKK is reaching out to the teachers within the area to give them a helping hand as well. This school has a lot going for it and with how much it is trying to give out to the community and improve kids lives. It deserves to be one of the best karate schools in San Diego. Not to mention how the adult classes are increasing in size as well, and the different programs that will soon be implemented such as MMA, Kick Boxing, Women's Self defense and more. AFKK has really out done themselves with understanding what people are looking for and need in a martial arts school.

They are the BEST! Recognition is given freely, encouragement, self esteem...they are just awesome! All the staff is highly involved...they relate to the kids as well as the adults in class...they really take the time to "know" their students and what their strengths are and then help to build the areas that need improvement. My son has been going for 1 1/2 yrs and at 9yrs old he is now a Class Leader for younger classes and within the nexr few months he will be eligble to earn the title of Junior Instructor and help teach and lead the olderand adult classes-the student have to earn these rights and privledges and my son strives every class to be the best he can be. It is the first activity or sport that has kept his attention and his desire to always work hard and do his best. He would not have accomplished nearly everything he has in the last year without the help, support, encouragement, and moral value lessons that he gets from attending classes at Amwerican Family Kenpo Karate! I checked out a lot of Martial Arts facilities. Your schools professional staff and friendly atmosphere made me feel right at home. Then the martial arts its self is out of this world. I have trained before and tried other schools close by. But the self-defense don't come even close to what you have to offer.
